My resolution year generally begins on my birthday (in February) rather than on January 1st, but everyone is talking about resolutions now. So here are a few resolution-type-things that are on my mind right now:
Be more mindful – I am currently reading Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World. I must admit that I would really like to incorporate more of this mindset into my life. Not that this is terribly new. I blogged about being mindful as a family in early 2011 with the book The Mindful Child. It just seems a good time to revisit the idea.
Be more frugal – I was inspired by a post on RevolutionizeHer about living cheaply and the book Don’t Throw it: Recycle, Renew, and Reuse to Make Things Last to give more thought to the way I do things. Most of the ideas are long-term, so here’s to getting organized!
- Get fit – My stepmother-in-law’s guest post about fitness as a family reminded me that having a child tagging along with me on most of my activities is no excuse for not exercising. We’ve already started small by playing Wii Fit in the evenings when we might just sit around. We have a long way to go, but we’re on our way!
I guess I’ll re-evaluate in mid-February when I turn thirty-something-plus-one. Right now, I’m feeling pretty good about 2012. It’s gonna be a good one.

I think 2012 is going to be a good one too! 2 & 3 are part of my resolutions too.
Nice! :)
