Monday Morning Music with Ashley Gold

It’s a good time to live in the Twin Cities. I know, I would probably say that anytime, but the amazing weather this past weekend has really proved my point.  In the spirit of loving all things local, my Monday Morning Music choice today is a local singer-songwriter who writes in her bio that she fell in love with poetry after taking a writing workshop at Intermedia Arts–a great organization that encourages teens to connect with art.

You can see Ashley Gold and support some great local organizations at the 2nd Annual Mikey Max Heals the World event on Saturday, Match 24th.  100% of the proceeds from the event will be split among three local non-profits: Neighborhood Involvement Program (which offers low cost health & dental services to the uninsured), Perspectives Inc. (which helps at-risk families), and Project for Pride in Living (which helps people gain stability in housing, job, & family).  Great music, great causes.

Here is Ashley Gold performing “Reaching” from 2010:

  1. What a fun idea for an event. Free Arts has been thinking about doing something like this, but is still unsure of it’s impact. This would be good to go to and find out more about the process. Thanks for posting!
