Monday Morning Music with Mates of State

I liked Mates of State from the moment I heard them.  This rarely happens for me.  I usually need time and multiple listens for a band to grow on me.  I’m not sure what it was about them that was different, but it was.  I bought their CD within a week, and I couldn’t stop listening to it.

Ten years later, I still like Mates of State.  Maybe I even like them more because I’ve been living vicariously through Kori’s blog Band on the Diaper Run about family life on tour. Maybe there is a not-so-secret part of me that wants my husband’s band to get discovered, just so my kiddo and I can join them on tour (and blog about it).  In any case, Kori has recently said goodbye to Band on the Diaper Run.

At least she did it with a song. :)
